I watched The Odyssey last month. I love the Traralgon Cinema. Even on the coldest or wettest of winter days, I can seamlessly transition from my home to the cinema without a drop of rain reaching my head, unless I grab one between my house and garage. There’s so much discussion about this film, and I’m here for it. Shared cultural experiences that are not disaster-focused fill my cup. The variety of responses enrich my own experience of it.
I love this little video. We need to make our own spaces on the internet and visit others’ creative spaces. I’ve recently reconnected with reading this blog – https://dancingwithfrogs.wordpress.com/. I’ve gained so much inspiration, over the years, from her blog. I am not a big traveller, but I love her insights into the places she visits. I visited her once and we had a lovely afternoon. There is so much to admire about Frogdancer.
I think about when the internet first emerged in my awareness, back in the 80s. I was waiting for it and anticipating all the abundance of opportunities for connection, creativity and learning it would bring. It has delivered. There are side effects that I didn’t see coming. Rather than throw it out, how can we build the internet we want?
I’ve been thinking about the word embodiment. It is being used a lot. Sometimes words just get thrown around so much that I get confused about what they mean.
I thought it meant bringing an idea or thought into reality. The way I’ve been hearing it is that we are physically the idea or thought. It is used to mean being aware of our entire being, feelings, thoughts and physical sensations.
