I have finally checked out YouTube. I have been avoiding it because of my obsession with Revver and I just didn’t want to get hooked into something else. I have really enjoyed watching these Kate Bush clips tonight. Rocket Man is great with a bit of history. They are all from clips from TV as far as I can tell. I have been listening to “Like a Version 2” and the soundtrack from “I am Sam”, lately. There is something I like about hearing another version and interpretation of a song and lyrics.
Enjoyed this one too, one of my favourites Moments of Pleasure. The lyrics are amazing and she just delivers it magically, I reckon. I am such a fan! I am going to be back to check out more another time. This one with Peter Gabriel, ‘Don’t Give Up’ is another good one.
Andy’s little clip
I love a little movie Andy made about riding him and Ella to Blonde Bay and Waddy’s track. It is really cute. It was on revver but I have taken it off.
Today I watched ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ with one of my classes. I love that movie. It’s great. The opening song ‘Big Rock Candy Mountain’ is an old American folk song by Anonymous. I love those lyrics. They are so childlike and cute, yet filled with adult longings. We have been reading the book ‘Out of the Dust’ by Karen Hesse in that class and I have totally enjoyed it all. I hope the kids have enjoyed it half as much as I have. It is another repetition for me of both texts and has deepened by appreciation immensely.
Garden State
The ‘Garden State’ cover is different in Australia to the one on the above website. I like ours better actually. It depicts a great scene from the movie.
The movie is awesome. Great movie, very funny scenes, touching issues and complications and the music is just what I am enjoying lately, Shins etc.
Yes it has been the high point of my day watching this movie.
Today has been a little bit of a struggle to avoid feeling those end of school holidays blues. I managed though. It’s just a freedom restriction thing. I like being at school these days – Remember that! Yes, it’s me talking to myself again.
