I am reading another book by Joanne Harris “Five Quarters of the Orange”. I loved “Chocolat”. The book was sensational as well as the film. The current read is terrific also. I find her books talk about food in a very delicious way. They inspire me to be mindful about cooking. Does it have this effect on anyone else?
Speaking about mindfulness about food, in Victoria there is ‘Australia’s largest slow food festival’ happening at the end of this month. ‘A Taste of Slow’ , doesn’t it sound amazing. What could be better?
Joanne Harris’s website lists 11 books she has written. I am not sure why I haven’t devoured them all yet, but I certainly intend to. Make sure you read the about the author link for a smile.
Flavia
Whilst I was away I took a book called ‘Everyday Heroes’ with me by Flavia. I have loved her work for a long time. I remember the first discovery was a pink mug with a shooting star inside it, and the inscription ‘You’re a Star’. It made my heart sing.
My nana bought my daughter a little picture book by Flavia and it reminded me how lovely and inspiration the world could be.
I love her spirals and stars most of all I think, and her smily sunshines.
Wyrd by Sue Gough
A novel written in 1993 that reminds me of Da Vinci Code. I am not sure why and will have to reread it but everytime I think of Da Vinci Code, I have a connection with Wyrd that I discovered in the school library and loved reading a couple of years ago.
